Summary:

Maths Lead Practitioner needed to inspire and lead in a high-achieving secondary school.

The Opportunity:

As a Maths Lead Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in raising standards and improving pupil outcomes in a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the maths department to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement an engaging and inclusive maths curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support to improve attainment.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to achieve individual and collective targets.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to teaching and learning.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the faculty.
  • Represent the maths department at senior leadership meetings and contribute to whole-school strategies.
  • Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives that enhance student outcomes and leadership development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Proven experience of teaching to GCSE standard.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a faculty and deliver outstanding attainment and achievement.
  • Strong organisational and motivational skills.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Background in leadership or middle management within education.
  • Experience with teaching in disadvantaged communities.
  • Familiarity with Star Academies' values and approach to education.
