Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student progress and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student performance to ensure continuous improvement in learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support school-wide initiatives.
  • Participate in curriculum planning and contribute to the development of Science programs.
  • Support the personal and academic development of students through pastoral care and mentorship.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and integrate new teaching methods and technologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant Science degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience in teaching Science at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with cross-curricular teaching and project-based learning.
  • Familiarity with the Watergrove Trust and multi-academy trust structures.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
  • Ability to support students with special educational needs.
