Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor English teachers, providing guidance and support to enhance teaching and learning.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to drive school improvement and raise standards across the institution.
  • Represent the school at internal and external events, sharing best practices and promoting the school’s vision.
  • Support the professional development of staff through coaching, mentoring, and training.
  • Contribute to the school’s wider strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in English education.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a teaching team.
  • Demonstrable expertise in English subject knowledge and pedagogy.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school leadership or senior leadership role.
  • Familiarity with the Watergrove Trust or similar multi-academy trusts.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support strategies.
