The Opportunity:

As a Maths Teacher and Numeracy Coordinator, you will lead a vibrant maths enrichment programme and promote numeracy across the school. This role is ideal for an experienced and enthusiastic teacher looking to make a significant impact on student progress and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a maths enrichment programme that enhances student learning beyond the curriculum.
  • Promote numeracy across the school, ensuring equitable opportunities for all students, including Pupil Premium students.
  • Coordinate and support numeracy initiatives that improve student outcomes and engagement.
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to ensure a cohesive and high-quality maths curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of numeracy strategies and interventions.
  • Engage with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the professional development of teaching staff within the maths department.
  • Ensure all students make the best possible progress in mathematics.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching Mathematics at secondary level.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage a department.
  • Experience in promoting numeracy and maths enrichment.
  • Commitment to student achievement and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in coordinating or leading enrichment programmes.
  • Experience in working with Pupil Premium students.
  • Knowledge of current maths teaching methodologies and technologies.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
