Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students across Key Stage 3 to 5, including examination groups.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Support students in achieving their academic goals and developing a love for English.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly to ensure all learners are supported.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
  • Encourage student participation in extra-curricular activities related to English.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching English.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and examination requirements.
  • Experience working with students across a range of abilities and year groups.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering lessons to Key Stage 3 to 5 students.
  • Familiarity with exam preparation and assessment techniques.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
