Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Maths to IGCSE and A level students, as well as support extracurricular programs.
  • Plan, prepare, and review schemes of work and lessons that ensure continuity and progression.
  • Set and mark homework in line with school policy, providing clear and constructive feedback.
  • Create and maintain a structured, purposeful classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Participate in curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting in line with school and departmental policies.
  • Support student well-being through pastoral care and mentorship responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental and school-wide initiatives, including extra-curricular and boarding activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status and relevant graduate qualification.
  • Experience teaching Maths in a mixed-ability classroom.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and examination syllabi.
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver effective lessons and schemes of work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with information and communication technology in teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience in a cross-cultural or international school setting.
  • Familiarity with Chinese contemporary culture.
  • Experience in pastoral care or tutoring.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to participate in boarding and extra-curricular duties.
