The Opportunity:

As a Mental Health Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional and mental wellbeing of students within the SEND & Wellbeing team. This role offers the chance to work with a dedicated team and deliver impactful SEMH interventions that help young people build resilience and life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the mental health and wellbeing of students through targeted interventions and assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with the SEND & Wellbeing Strategic Lead to develop and deliver SEMH programmes.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff and students on mental health issues and coping strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide policies and practices that promote mental health and emotional resilience.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with best practices in mental health support.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to student progress and intervention outcomes.
  • Engage with families and external agencies to support holistic student care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualification in mental health, psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with complex needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess and develop SEMH interventions.
  • Commitment to supporting student wellbeing and academic success.

Preferred

  • Experience working within an alternative provision or SEND setting.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
  • Experience with EHC Plans and specialist provision.
  • Familiarity with alternative education frameworks.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
