The Opportunity:

As an Early Career Teacher Tutor, you will play a key role in supporting and developing teachers in the early stages of their careers. This is a vital position that ensures ECTs receive the guidance and training needed to thrive in the profession.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the induction programme for Early Career Teachers in line with statutory requirements.
  • Provide high-quality mentoring, training, and guidance to ECTs across core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science.
  • Support and develop mentors to ensure they are equipped to guide ECTs effectively.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of ECTs to ensure they are meeting professional standards and developing their skills.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to align the induction programme with the school’s strategic goals and priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements related to ECT induction and support.
  • Deliver training sessions and professional development opportunities tailored to the needs of ECTs.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages growth and continuous learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in core subject areas such as English, Mathematics, or Science.
  • Proven experience in mentoring or supporting early career teachers.
  • Strong understanding of statutory requirements for ECT induction and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and lead training and development programmes.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or managing induction programmes for teachers.
  • Familiarity with United Learning’s teaching frameworks and support systems.
  • Experience with curriculum development and teacher training.
  • Demonstrated success in improving teacher retention and professional development.
