The Opportunity:

As a Middle School English Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping students’ literacy, analytical thinking, and communication skills. You will deliver engaging lessons that align with the British educational framework and prepare students for IGCSE pathways in a dynamic, multilingual environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and the British educational framework.
  • Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills through structured and differentiated teaching.
  • Foster a love of literature, language, and critical thinking.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and academically ambitious classroom environment.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress to ensure high standards of attainment.
  • Prepare students effectively for progression into IGCSE pathways.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and sharing of best practice.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and contribute to pastoral care.
  • Engage positively with parents and the wider school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English or a closely related field.
  • PGCE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary or upper primary level.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Native-level or near-native proficiency in English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • A collaborative, student-centred and reflective approach to teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience within the British curriculum.
  • Experience in an international or multilingual school setting.
  • Familiarity with IGCSE preparation.
  • Italian language skills.
