The Opportunity:

As a Music Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping students' musical abilities and enthusiasm for the subject. You will deliver dynamic lessons aligned with the UK curriculum and contribute to the school's vibrant extracurricular music programs, including choirs, bands, and performances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring music lessons aligned with the UK curriculum
  • Plan and prepare high-quality teaching materials that support student learning and development
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes
  • Lead and manage extracurricular music activities such as choirs, ensembles, and performances
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support a cohesive and inclusive learning environment
  • Stay up to date with developments in music education and integrate innovative teaching methods
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success
  • Support the school's mission by promoting respect, integrity, and excellence in all aspects of teaching

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Music or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the secondary/high school level
  • Strong knowledge of UK music curriculum standards
  • Ability to teach music theory, performance, composition, and technology
  • Excellent classroom management and student motivation skills
  • Proficient in using educational technology relevant to music teaching
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching in an international or multicultural setting
  • Experience with Cambridge International IGCSE or AS/A Level music curriculum
  • Leadership experience in school music ensembles or performance groups
  • Background in music composition or performance
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support
