The Opportunity:

As a Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that students with special educational needs receive the tailored support they need to succeed academically and socially within a UK curriculum framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEND.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external specialists to provide effective support strategies.
  • Coordinate assessments and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on SEND best practices.
  • Promote an inclusive culture within the school community.
  • Identify and address challenges related to student learning needs.
  • Support the integration of students with special needs into mainstream classes when appropriate.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians to ensure consistent support for students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (minimum requirement).
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a similar SEND coordination role.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK primary school curriculum and SEND frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams including teachers, parents, and external agencies.

Preferred

  • Experience in an international school setting.
  • Familiarity with Cambridge International IGCSE and AS/A Level curricula.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead inclusive educational strategies.
  • Experience with student assessments and progress tracking systems.
