Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that integrates interdisciplinary learning and inquiry-based approaches.
- Lead and support a team of music educators to deliver high-quality, student-centered learning experiences.
- Foster a compassionate and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and personal growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance student learning and create meaningful learning opportunities.
- Promote a culture of innovation and creativity through music education and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure alignment with the school’s strategic pillars, including learner-centered approaches and intercultural literacy.
- Build strong relationships with parents and the wider school community to support student success.
- Maintain and adhere to the school's policies, including safeguarding and child protection standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a music department in a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and pedagogy.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences.
- Experience in curriculum development and interdisciplinary teaching.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.
Preferred
- Experience with international curricula such as the IB or Cambridge.
- Background in project-based learning and student-led inquiry.
- Experience in fostering student leadership and community engagement through music.
- Fluency in multiple languages.
- Familiarity with digital tools and technologies in music education.
