Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that integrates interdisciplinary learning and inquiry-based approaches.

  • Foster a compassionate and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance student learning and create meaningful learning opportunities.

  • Build strong relationships with parents and the wider school community to support student success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a music department in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and pedagogy.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences.
  • Experience in curriculum development and interdisciplinary teaching.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.

Preferred

  • Experience with international curricula such as the IB or Cambridge.
  • Background in project-based learning and student-led inquiry.
  • Experience in fostering student leadership and community engagement through music.
  • Fluency in multiple languages.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and technologies in music education.
