The Opportunity:
As a Music Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the musical and cultural life of the school. You will lead and coordinate the school’s music programme, including major events and collaborative productions, while supporting the Performing Arts department in delivering high-quality educational experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the school’s music provision, including instrumental teaching and peripatetic staff.
- Lead and direct musical elements of key school events such as concerts, productions, and Speech Day.
- Collaborate with the Performing Arts department to deliver impactful and innovative productions.
- Oversee and manage the assembly music programme and associated activities.
- Support the administration of external music examinations and wider music initiatives.
- Promote a culture of inclusivity and creativity through music education.
- Ensure all activities align with the school’s values and safeguarding policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in music education.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a music programme within a school setting.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Experience in coordinating large-scale events and productions.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching across a range of age groups and abilities.
- Familiarity with international education standards and practices.
- Experience with music technology and digital resources.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Background in curriculum development and assessment.
