Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons that inspire and engage students.
  • Develop and maintain a vibrant extra-curricular music program, including ensembles and solo performances.
  • Collaborate with the Performing Arts Department to enhance student achievement and creativity.
  • Implement a knowledge-rich, personalised curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Support the school's commitment to inclusion and mental well-being through music education.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic performance in the classroom.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching practice.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant music qualification.
  • Experience in teaching music at the secondary level.
  • Ability to deliver a knowledge-rich, personalised curriculum.
  • Commitment to inclusion and student well-being.
  • Strong classroom management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading extra-curricular music activities.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or similar.
  • Experience working in an Ofsted Outstanding school.
  • Experience with music performance and production.
  • Passion for developing student talent in both solo and ensemble settings.
