The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Leader, you will play a vital role in supporting students and staff across the school. You will lead and manage pastoral support for an allocated Year Group, ensuring a positive learning environment that promotes student success and wellbeing. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of pastoral support for an allocated Year Group
  • Develop and monitor strategies to improve and maintain student behaviour and conduct
  • Provide key pastoral support to school staff across various subject areas
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Pastoral team to ensure consistent and effective support
  • Facilitate effective teaching and learning that helps students succeed
  • Support the school's commitment to student wellbeing and academic achievement
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE passes in English and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills
  • Proven experience of working with children and young people
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Experience in a pastoral or similar role within an educational setting

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing pastoral strategies
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques
  • Experience in a school or college environment
  • Experience with student welfare and support initiatives
