Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the school’s curriculum.
  • Support students in developing strong writing, reading, and self-expression skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices across the English department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
  • Work closely with other teachers and support staff to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching English at the appropriate level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English, including literature and language.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with research-driven pedagogical approaches.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching and supporting diverse learners.
  • Previous experience in a Multi Academy Trust or similar educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
