The Opportunity:

The Personal Assistant to Head will provide essential administrative and organisational support to the Head during a maternity cover period. This role is central to the smooth operation of the school and involves collaboration with the entire school community. The successful candidate will be a key member of the leadership team, ensuring the Head’s priorities are met with professionalism and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the Head.
  • Manage a busy and varied diary, including scheduling meetings, arranging travel, and coordinating events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and correspondence.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across the school community.
  • Support the Head in the preparation of reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Assist in the coordination of school events and initiatives.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Act as a point of contact for senior staff and external partners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior PA or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational institution.
  • Knowledge of school operations and leadership structures.
  • Understanding of the educational sector and its unique challenges.
  • Experience with event coordination or project management.
