The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher - Teaching and Learning, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the quality of teaching and learning across the school. This is a leadership position that offers the chance to influence practice, support staff development, and ensure that students receive the highest standard of education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop teaching and learning strategies across the school.
  • Support and challenge staff to improve practice and raise student achievement.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning across all departments.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high expectations.
  • Ensure that student progress and attainment remain at the heart of all decisions.
  • Provide professional development and mentorship to teaching staff.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s strategic vision and priorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in improving student attainment and progress.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a similar role within a secondary school setting.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement processes.
