The Opportunity:
As a Personal Assistant to the Headteacher, you will provide essential administrative and organisational support, ensuring the Headteacher’s workload is efficiently managed. This role is central to the smooth operation of the school and requires discretion, organisation, and a proactive approach to support the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a complex diary, including scheduling meetings, events, and appointments.
- Coordinate communication between the Headteacher, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
- Take accurate minutes and maintain detailed, organised records of all meetings and correspondence.
- Ensure the efficient and professional handling of all administrative tasks and documentation.
- Support the Headteacher in the management of school operations and strategic initiatives.
- Liaise with internal and external parties to ensure a responsive and professional service.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documents as required.
- Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior administrative or PA role, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a demanding diary and multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact at all levels.
- Confident in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work undertaken.
Preferred
- Experience working within a co-educational or independent school environment.
- Knowledge of school operations and the educational sector.
- Experience in managing complex projects or events.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
