The Opportunity:

As Head of IT and Digital Innovation, you will lead the school’s digital education strategy and IT provision, ensuring technology enhances teaching, learning, and the wider pupil and staff experience. This is a strategic role that involves shaping the future of digital innovation in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the school’s digital education strategy and IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure the safe and responsible use of technology by pupils and staff, working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in computing, inspiring students and supporting colleagues.
  • Provide expert guidance on cybersecurity and online safety across the school community.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape long-term educational and technological goals.
  • Support staff through training and development in digital innovation and IT best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of digital tools and initiatives on teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends in educational technology and digital innovation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in IT, digital innovation, and cybersecurity within an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills with the ability to influence and inspire.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality teaching and learning in computing.
  • Experience in developing and implementing digital education strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a focus on teamwork and inclusion.

Preferred

  • Experience in online safety and staff training in cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with educational technology platforms and tools.
  • Background in curriculum innovation and digital pedagogy.
  • Experience in leading a department or team in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies in education.
