As a Pre-Prep Classroom Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping young learners through a dynamic, play-based approach to education. You will work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a well-rounded and stimulating learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students in a bilingual setting, ensuring they meet academic, social, and emotional learning goals.
- Collaborate with a co-teacher to deliver lessons that are engaging, interactive, and aligned with the EYFS curriculum.
- Plan and implement lessons that promote learning through play, problem solving, and exploration.
- Monitor and support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of students within the class.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and development.
- Participate in and contribute to the co-curricular programme, including after-school clubs and activities.
- Supervise students during mealtimes, playtimes, and other designated periods.
- Comply with all school policies on safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection.
- Support admissions and marketing efforts by engaging with prospective families and promoting the school’s values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in early years education.
- Strong understanding of play-based learning and child development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a teaching team.
- Proficiency in using information technology for lesson planning, record keeping, and parent communication.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.
Preferred
- Experience working in a bilingual educational environment.
- Familiarity with the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
- Experience with students with special educational needs.
- Knowledge of Chinese educational practices or Mandarin language skills.
- Experience in co-curricular programme delivery or extracurricular activities.
