The Opportunity:

As a Primary Librarian / Library Teacher, you will play a key role in fostering a love of reading and supporting academic excellence across the primary school. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to a progressive and innovative educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging library programmes that support the curriculum and promote a culture of reading.
  • Manage and maintain library resources, ensuring they are accessible and up to date.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate library resources into classroom learning.
  • Support students in developing research, literacy, and information skills.
  • Promote the use of digital and print resources to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Organize and lead library events, reading challenges, and other initiatives that encourage student engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of library usage and inventory using library management systems.
  • Provide guidance and support to students and staff on library policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a librarian, library teacher, or in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with curriculum integration and supporting teaching staff with library resources.
  • Experience with library management systems and digital resources.
  • Strong ability to foster a love of reading among primary students.

Preferred

  • Professional certification in library services or information management.
  • Experience working in an international or British curriculum school.
  • Knowledge of AI-based educational programmes or innovative teaching methodologies.
