As a Primary Music Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the musical journey of young students, delivering engaging and creative lessons that bring learning to life. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging music lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the school’s values and educational philosophy.
  • Support the growth of the instrumental programme through collaboration with colleagues and specialist teachers.
  • Encourage student independence and a lifelong love of music through home practice opportunities.
  • Contribute to co-curricular activities and the pastoral care of the school community.
  • Work closely with the Head of Brass, Woodwind, and other instrumental teachers to expand the school’s music offering.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that nurtures creativity and self-expression.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of a Year 4 orchestral project, providing specialist instruction and support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in primary music education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in music and a passion for teaching young learners.
  • Experience in delivering practical, creative, and engaging music lessons.
  • Commitment to a student-centred, enquiry-based approach to learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the development of the instrumental programme.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing or contributing to an instrumental programme.
  • Familiarity with UK-style education and its values.
  • Experience with orchestral or ensemble teaching.
  • Strong communication and pastoral care skills.
  • Ability to support students in taking instruments home for practice.
