The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Primary SENCO to lead and coordinate inclusive practices across the primary phase. This role is central to ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially, in line with the school's mission of authentic inclusion and high expectations for every child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate provision for students of determination across the primary phase.
  • Oversee identification, assessment, and intervention processes to ensure effective support for all students.
  • Work closely with class teachers, LSAs, external agencies, and parents to provide holistic support.
  • Develop and implement inclusive strategies that align with the school’s vision and the Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework.
  • Support staff through professional development and coaching to embed inclusive practices across the curriculum.
  • Ensure that support plans are purposeful, reviewed regularly, and impactful.
  • Collaborate with therapists and external agencies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Contribute to the wider curriculum and enrichment opportunities within the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A B.Ed. or degree in a related subject, plus PGCE/PGDE or equivalent.
  • SENCO qualification (or working towards).
  • Previous experience working as a SENCO or Inclusion Teacher in a Primary school setting.
  • Exceptional subject knowledge and a track record of outstanding teaching.
  • Strong knowledge of early identification and intervention strategies.
  • Working knowledge of the English National Curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework.
  • Familiarity with international curricula such as the IGCSE and IB programmes.
  • Experience working in a multicultural and international environment.
