The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Procurement & Contracts Manager to shape and develop a new role within a progressive multi-academy trust. This is a rare opportunity to lead procurement strategy, manage contracts, and support large-scale projects across the trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop procurement strategy, including setting a preferred supplier list and ensuring trust-wide compliance
  • Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships to achieve best value and monitor KPIs
  • Support large-scale procurement projects and ensure compliance with public procurement regulations
  • Collaborate with schools and internal stakeholders to align procurement with strategic priorities
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with policies
  • Champion best practice and cost-saving initiatives across the trust
  • Manage risks and compliance in contracts and procurement processes
  • Use procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite to support day-to-day tasks

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven track record in procurement/contracts management with a focus on driving benefits and savings
  • Knowledge of public procurement regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing small-to-large scale procurements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience managing supplier relationships
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and manage multiple stakeholders

Preferred

  • Experience in the private or public sector with a focus on education
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
