The Opportunity:

A school is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Religious Studies Teacher to join its department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students across all ability levels and contribute to a dynamic and supportive learning environment. The successful candidate will have a passion for Religious Studies and a commitment to delivering high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Religious Studies to students across all ability and age ranges, including GCSE and A Level.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that promote critical thinking and a deep understanding of religious concepts.
  • Contribute to the development and review of the Religious Studies curriculum.
  • Support students in achieving their academic potential through individualised guidance and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular learning and student engagement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and school events.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Religious Studies.
  • Proven ability to teach across a range of abilities and age groups.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Religious Studies.
  • Experience in delivering both GCSE and A Level courses.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and ethos.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an independent school setting.
  • Familiarity with the Methodist ethos and Christian values.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
