The Opportunity:

A Science Teacher (Chemistry Specialism) is needed to join a dynamic and successful department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Chemistry and other sciences at Key Stage 3 and GCSE.
  • Teach Chemistry to A Level and support students in achieving excellent results.
  • Contribute to the development and growth of the Science Department, including the Prep Department.
  • Act as a High School Form Tutor, supporting student wellbeing and pastoral care.
  • Encourage student engagement and foster a love of science through innovative and varied teaching methods.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the school’s science curriculum and outcomes.
  • Support the school’s commitment to student success through continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  • Participate in extracurricular science activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a Chemistry specialism.
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and GCSE level.
  • Ability to teach Chemistry to A Level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care.
  • Willingness to contribute to the development of the Science Department.

Preferred

  • Experience in a high-achieving school environment.
  • Previous experience with AQA GCSE Science qualifications.
  • NQT or ECT status with a commitment to professional development.
  • Flexibility to work full-time or on a 0.8 FTE basis.
