The Opportunity:
A Science Teacher (Chemistry Specialism) is needed to join a dynamic and successful department. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Chemistry and other sciences at Key Stage 3 and GCSE.
- Teach Chemistry to A Level and support students in achieving excellent results.
- Contribute to the development and growth of the Science Department, including the Prep Department.
- Act as a High School Form Tutor, supporting student wellbeing and pastoral care.
- Encourage student engagement and foster a love of science through innovative and varied teaching methods.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the school’s science curriculum and outcomes.
- Support the school’s commitment to student success through continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Participate in extracurricular science activities and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a Chemistry specialism.
- Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and GCSE level.
- Ability to teach Chemistry to A Level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care.
- Willingness to contribute to the development of the Science Department.
Preferred
- Experience in a high-achieving school environment.
- Previous experience with AQA GCSE Science qualifications.
- NQT or ECT status with a commitment to professional development.
- Flexibility to work full-time or on a 0.8 FTE basis.
