The Opportunity:

The School Business Operations Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school’s business operations. This position supports leadership in focusing on teaching and learning while managing key areas such as health and safety, human resources, exams, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the strategic and operational aspects of business functions including health and safety, human resources, exams, compliance, and administration.
  • Provide day-to-day support to enable the school to operate effectively and efficiently.
  • Act as Personal Assistant to the Head Teacher, providing administrative and operational support.
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are met and maintained across the school.
  • Coordinate and manage the administration of exams and related processes.
  • Support the leadership team by allowing them to focus on teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with the school’s vision and goals.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of business operations to ensure continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in managing business operations within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety, HR, compliance, and administration procedures.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in providing administrative support to senior leadership.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or academy environment.
  • Familiarity with educational compliance frameworks.
  • Experience in managing exam processes.
  • Leadership or management experience within an educational institution.
