School Nurse - Bank Cover needed for proactive and reactive medical support at a school.

The Opportunity:
As a School Nurse on a cover basis, you will provide essential medical care to students and support the school's pastoral team. This role is ideal for a Registered General Nurse who can work independently and make clinical decisions within their scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid and general medical care for students and staff.
- Contribute to health education programmes for students.
- Maintain and manage students’ medical records and communicate with parents regarding medical concerns.
- Order and manage medical supplies in the absence of the School Nurse.
- Accompany students to hospital and liaise with parents for care handover.
- Inform Deputy Heads and staff of medical issues affecting student wellbeing or performance.
- Liaise with the School Counsellors or Pastoral Team as needed.
- Coordinate childhood immunisation programmes.
- Advise and participate in the PHSME curriculum when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Registered General Nurse with the ability to work autonomously.
- Confidence in making clinical decisions within your area of competence.
- Experience in providing first aid and medical care in an educational setting.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with parents, staff, and medical professionals.
Preferred
- Experience in health education or curriculum development.
- Knowledge of childhood immunisation programmes.
- Familiarity with PHSME (Personal, Health and Social Education) curriculum.
- Flexibility to work on a cover basis as required.
