The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a part-time Media Technician to support teaching and learning in the Media and Film Department. This role involves providing technical assistance to students and staff, managing audio-visual equipment, and developing resources to enhance media production skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on technical support to students and staff during filming, editing, and software use.
- Assist in group workshops focused on media production and technical skills development.
- Maintain and manage audio-visual equipment and software across the department.
- Develop user guides and troubleshooting materials to support independent student learning.
- Collaborate with department staff to ensure smooth operation of media resources.
- Support the delivery of A Level and Vocational courses in Media Studies, Film Studies, and Digital Media.
- Participate in departmental activities and contribute to a collaborative and creative environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proactive and technically skilled with experience in media production and audio-visual equipment.
- Ability to support both students and staff in a teaching and learning environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with relevant media software and editing tools.
- Commitment to the school’s values and mission.
Preferred
- Experience working in an educational setting, particularly in media or film production.
- Background in developing teaching resources or user guides.
- Knowledge of industry-standard media production techniques and workflows.
- Experience with managing and maintaining audio-visual equipment.
