The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Science Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive department, teaching students aged 11–18 across GCSE, BTEC, and A Level courses. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic and personal development while working within a collaborative and innovative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Science to students aged 11–18 across GCSE, Level 2 BTEC, and A Level courses.
- Act as a form tutor, supporting students’ wellbeing, organisation, and academic progress.
- Lead one weekly after-school activity, promoting student engagement and interest in Science.
- Participate in supervision duties, report writing, and attend parents’ evenings.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the Head of Science to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that encourage active participation and student achievement.
- Contribute to the department’s commitment to pastoral care and academic excellence.
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified or unqualified teacher with experience in Science education.
- Ability to teach students aged 11–18 across GCSE, BTEC, and A Level courses.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care.
- Willingness to take on form tutor responsibilities and participate in extra-curricular activities.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Science at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Background in leading after-school activities or extracurricular programmes.
- Experience with safeguarding and working in a school environment with additional needs.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
