The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Science Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive department, teaching students aged 11–18 across GCSE, BTEC, and A Level courses. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic and personal development while working within a collaborative and innovative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science to students aged 11–18 across GCSE, Level 2 BTEC, and A Level courses.
  • Act as a form tutor, supporting students’ wellbeing, organisation, and academic progress.
  • Lead one weekly after-school activity, promoting student engagement and interest in Science.
  • Participate in supervision duties, report writing, and attend parents’ evenings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the Head of Science to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that encourage active participation and student achievement.
  • Contribute to the department’s commitment to pastoral care and academic excellence.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified or unqualified teacher with experience in Science education.
  • Ability to teach students aged 11–18 across GCSE, BTEC, and A Level courses.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care.
  • Willingness to take on form tutor responsibilities and participate in extra-curricular activities.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Science at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Background in leading after-school activities or extracurricular programmes.
  • Experience with safeguarding and working in a school environment with additional needs.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
