Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons to students across key stages, including Chemistry.
  • Plan and assess engaging and challenging learning experiences that support student progress.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and deliver a cohesive science curriculum.
  • Support the personal and academic development of students through effective pastoral care and guidance.
  • Monitor and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
  • Stay up to date with current scientific research and developments relevant to teaching practice.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and community engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Experience in teaching Science, including Chemistry, at the secondary level.
  • Commitment to student-centered learning and inclusive education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction programs.
  • Familiarity with the use of digital tools and resources in the classroom.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
  • Passion for promoting STEM subjects and encouraging student interest in science.
