The Opportunity:

As a Catering Manager, you will play a vital role in managing a busy catering and hospitality service within a school. Your leadership and hands-on approach will ensure that fresh, high-quality meals are provided to students throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the catering and hospitality service.
  • Ensure the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer care are consistently maintained.
  • Develop and implement food production schedules to meet the needs of the school community.
  • Lead and motivate a team of catering staff, providing support and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service across the school day.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
  • Engage with students and staff to understand their needs and preferences.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ management experience within a catering environment.
  • Hold a relevant qualification such as City & Guilds or NVQ in catering.
  • Strong organisational and people management skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service.
  • A 'hands-on' approach and willingness to be involved in food production.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
