The Opportunity:

A school in Limassol is seeking a Science Teacher - Laboratory Technician to support practical science education in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics within the IB MYP and DP frameworks. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and well-equipped laboratory operations while contributing to student learning aligned with IB standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and test equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical lessons (MYP & DP).
  • Support teachers and students during laboratory sessions, including IB Internal Assessments (IAs).
  • Develop and maintain laboratory procedures aligned with IB requirements.
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals.
  • Maintain safety documentation, risk assessments, and MSDS records.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety within the Science Department.
  • Maintain, clean, and calibrate laboratory equipment; coordinate servicing if required.
  • Manage procurement, inventory, and storage of laboratory supplies.
  • Deliver or co-teach selected MYP or DP science lessons as required.
  • Support inquiry-based and experimental learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning where relevant.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field.
  • Previous laboratory experience (educational setting preferred).
  • Fluency in English.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transportation.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory health and safety regulations.

Preferred

  • Teaching qualification or classroom experience.
  • Familiarity with IB MYP and/or DP.
  • Greek language proficiency.
