The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Design Technology Teacher to join their team from August 2026. This role offers the opportunity to shape the learning experiences of students and contribute to a dynamic, forward-thinking educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons aligned with GCSE and A Level qualifications
- Coordinate and lead the Design Technology department with a focus on innovation and student achievement
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity and critical thinking
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share best practices
- Implement and evaluate initiatives that drive positive change in student learning outcomes
- Support the school’s mission through active participation in extra-curricular and community activities
- Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for all students
- Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements in Design Technology
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent with Postgraduate Certificate in Education (QTS) or equivalent
- At least 3 years of teaching experience
- Proficient level of English
- Proven track record of teaching GCSE and A Level qualifications
- Experience in leading or coordinating a subject area
- Experience working in a British school, preferably in the UAE
- Strong team player with a passion for learning and teaching
- Commitment to providing purposeful and inspiring learning opportunities for students
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation in Design Technology
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a department effectively
- Experience in a diverse, multicultural educational setting
- Familiarity with British curriculum standards and assessment practices
