The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Design Technology Teacher to join their team from August 2026. This role offers the opportunity to shape the learning experiences of students and contribute to a dynamic, forward-thinking educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons aligned with GCSE and A Level qualifications
  • Coordinate and lead the Design Technology department with a focus on innovation and student achievement
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity and critical thinking
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share best practices
  • Implement and evaluate initiatives that drive positive change in student learning outcomes
  • Support the school’s mission through active participation in extra-curricular and community activities
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for all students
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements in Design Technology

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent with Postgraduate Certificate in Education (QTS) or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience
  • Proficient level of English
  • Proven track record of teaching GCSE and A Level qualifications
  • Experience in leading or coordinating a subject area
  • Experience working in a British school, preferably in the UAE
  • Strong team player with a passion for learning and teaching
  • Commitment to providing purposeful and inspiring learning opportunities for students

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation in Design Technology
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a department effectively
  • Experience in a diverse, multicultural educational setting
  • Familiarity with British curriculum standards and assessment practices
