The Opportunity:

As a Secondary Food Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education and inspiring students in Food Technology. You will support students through GCSE and A Level courses, while contributing to the school’s strong academic reputation and fostering a passion for the subject.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons to students at GCSE and A Level.
  • Support students in achieving outstanding results in Food Technology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the Food Technology curriculum.
  • Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme and student well-being initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with recent professional development opportunities and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Promote the profile of the department within the school and beyond.
  • Use ICT effectively to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students within their care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree relevant to the teaching subject or equivalent.
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Food Technology.
  • Experience of teaching GCSE and A Level Food Technology.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience, or a strong aspiration to be outstanding.
  • Ability to deliver consistently inspirational lessons and a track record of delivering outstanding results.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Evidence of recent professional development relevant to the role.
  • Commitment to student well-being and pastoral care.
  • Strong ICT skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of working overseas or with international students.
