The Opportunity:
As the Assistant Head of Sixth Form, you will play a key role in shaping the academic and pastoral experience of students. This is a leadership position that requires vision, experience, and a commitment to student success and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the leadership and direction of the academic and pastoral development of the Sixth Form.
- Monitor and assess student progress with their ECAs, Work Experience, and overall Kings’ Diploma.
- Manage the Extended Project Qualification and support the development of the Sixth Form curriculum.
- Collaborate with subject leaders and teachers to deliver a high-quality, bespoke curriculum.
- Analyse student performance data and assist in designing pastoral interventions.
- Support the Head of Sixth Form in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Assist in the administration of GCSE results and confirm subject choices for Sixth Form students.
- Support the Head of Sixth Form in the recruitment and selection of students for Sixth Form.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a Sixth Form setting.
- Strong understanding of the academic and pastoral needs of Sixth Form students.
- Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and implement new ideas to enhance the Sixth Form experience.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in teaching GCSE and A Level.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject.
- A commitment to the extra-curricular programme and student well-being.
Preferred
- Experience of working overseas or with international students.
