The Opportunity:

As the Assistant Head of Sixth Form, you will play a key role in shaping the academic and pastoral experience of students. This is a leadership position that requires vision, experience, and a commitment to student success and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the leadership and direction of the academic and pastoral development of the Sixth Form.
  • Monitor and assess student progress with their ECAs, Work Experience, and overall Kings’ Diploma.
  • Manage the Extended Project Qualification and support the development of the Sixth Form curriculum.
  • Collaborate with subject leaders and teachers to deliver a high-quality, bespoke curriculum.
  • Analyse student performance data and assist in designing pastoral interventions.
  • Support the Head of Sixth Form in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the administration of GCSE results and confirm subject choices for Sixth Form students.
  • Support the Head of Sixth Form in the recruitment and selection of students for Sixth Form.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a Sixth Form setting.
  • Strong understanding of the academic and pastoral needs of Sixth Form students.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and implement new ideas to enhance the Sixth Form experience.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in teaching GCSE and A Level.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject.
  • A commitment to the extra-curricular programme and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience of working overseas or with international students.
