The Opportunity:

A school is seeking an outstanding Secondary Maths Teacher for a maternity cover position starting in August/September 2026. This role offers the chance to contribute to a high-achieving department and support students in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding Maths education across KS3–KS5, including GCSE and IB.
  • Create stimulating and safe learning environments with high expectations and effective classroom management.
  • Promote a range of teaching and learning strategies to enhance student engagement and progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the development of students and the school’s academic goals.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of students in all aspects of the role.
  • Maintain high academic standards and support students in achieving excellent outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A fully qualified and experienced Maths Teacher with a relevant degree and professional teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching Maths across KS3–KS5.
  • Strong track record of successful academic outcomes.
  • Commitment to personal professional development with recent relevant training.
  • Ability to create a stimulating and safe learning environment with effective classroom management.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching GCSE and IB (desirable but not essential).
  • Robust knowledge and track record of raising standards in Maths.
  • Commitment to collaboration and building strong relationships with staff and students.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular activities.
