The Opportunity:

As SENCO – Director of Learning Enhancement, you will provide strategic leadership in inclusion and learning support, ensuring that students with additional learning needs receive the highest quality support. This role is a senior leadership position within the Academic Management Team, with a focus on whole-school consistency and evidence-informed practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop inclusive education strategies across the Senior School.
  • Work closely with the Director of Learning Support to ensure effective delivery of specialist provision.
  • Promote consistency in support systems, staff capability, and communication across the school.
  • Implement evidence-based practices to improve outcomes for students with additional learning needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of learning support initiatives.
  • Collaborate with academic and pastoral teams to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Provide professional development and guidance to staff on inclusive teaching practices.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practice in special educational needs support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, with a focus on inclusion and special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and evidence-informed decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience in working with students with additional learning needs.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting with a strong pastoral care ethos.
  • Familiarity with the IB Diploma, A-Levels, and BTEC qualifications.
  • Experience in developing and implementing school-wide inclusion strategies.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
