The Opportunity:
As SENCO – Director of Learning Enhancement, you will provide strategic leadership in inclusion and learning support, ensuring that students with additional learning needs receive the highest quality support. This role is a senior leadership position within the Academic Management Team, with a focus on whole-school consistency and evidence-informed practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop inclusive education strategies across the Senior School.
- Work closely with the Director of Learning Support to ensure effective delivery of specialist provision.
- Promote consistency in support systems, staff capability, and communication across the school.
- Implement evidence-based practices to improve outcomes for students with additional learning needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of learning support initiatives.
- Collaborate with academic and pastoral teams to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
- Provide professional development and guidance to staff on inclusive teaching practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practice in special educational needs support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, with a focus on inclusion and special educational needs.
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and evidence-informed decision-making.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience in working with students with additional learning needs.
- Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
Preferred
- Experience in a school setting with a strong pastoral care ethos.
- Familiarity with the IB Diploma, A-Levels, and BTEC qualifications.
- Experience in developing and implementing school-wide inclusion strategies.
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
