The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join our dedicated team and support pupils in Years 5 to 8. This is a maternity cover role, starting in September 2026, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners within a dynamic and nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons that inspire and challenge pupils across Years 5 to 8.
- Create engaging and inclusive learning experiences that foster a love of reading, writing, and communication.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support individual and group learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to a positive and supportive school culture.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community through regular communication and involvement in events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching English to pupils aged 9 to 13.
- Strong subject knowledge in English and a passion for teaching and learning.
- Experience in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Preferred
- Experience working in a school with a strong emphasis on values and character development.
- Familiarity with teaching in a boarding environment.
- Experience with curriculum planning and assessment.
- Ability to contribute to extra-curricular activities and school events.
