The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant Secondary, you will play a vital role in helping a Year 8 learner succeed in both academic and social settings. You will provide one-on-one support, working closely with teaching staff to ensure the learner is fully engaged and confident in their studies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support a Year 8 learner through one-on-one assistance during lessons.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement individualised learning strategies.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the learner’s specific needs and goals.
• Maintain consistent and professional relationships with students and colleagues.
• Monitor and report on the learner’s progress and development.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Follow guidance and procedures to maintain consistency in support delivery.
• Contribute to the overall success of the learner through regular communication and teamwork.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to supporting learners with diverse needs.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow established protocols.

Preferred

• Experience in a school environment, particularly with secondary-aged students.

• Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
• Experience with individual learning support or special educational needs.
