The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Specialist Primary Teacher to join our founding team as we prepare to open a new British international Preparatory School in Tokyo. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a world-class learning environment and contribute to the future of education in Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the British National Curriculum.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking.
  • Support the academic and personal development of students aged 3–11 through inclusive and differentiated instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the EDUC8 Group to ensure curriculum alignment and consistency.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that prioritizes student wellbeing.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the ongoing growth of the school community.
  • Engage in extracurricular activities and enrichment programs to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Support the school's mission of preparing students for success in a global context.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA) and degree-level education.
  • Relevant classroom experience in a primary setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to plan and deliver effective lessons.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing, and inclusive practice.
  • A flexible, resilient, and collaborative spirit suitable for a founding school phase.

Preferred

  • Experience in international or British curriculum schools outside the UK.
  • Experience supporting EAL pupils or multilingual learners.
  • Familiarity with COBIS accreditation standards.
