The Opportunity:

A Sports Teacher Graduate Assistant is sought to contribute to a vibrant sports program and support student development through coaching and officiating. This role is ideal for those looking to gain experience in teaching and sports leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coach at least one sport to a high standard.
• Officiate in at least two other sports with confidence.
• Deliver engaging and effective sports lessons to students across all age groups.
• Support the extra-curricular program during the week and at weekend fixtures.
• Collaborate with other staff to develop and implement sports initiatives.
• Promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture.
• Assist with the management of sports equipment and facilities.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated ability in coaching at least one major sport.
• Confidence in officiating at least two other sports.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to working with young people and promoting physical education.

Preferred

• Experience in teaching or education.
• Knowledge of sports curriculum and pedagogy.
• Experience with school sports programs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Passion for youth development and sports leadership.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive salary of £24,454 per annum.
• 37 hours per week, 44.4 weeks per year.
• Fixed-term contract for one year.
