The Opportunity:
A Support for Learning Teacher is needed to provide tailored academic support to students across the Senior School. This role plays a vital part in helping students with additional learning needs access the curriculum and reach their full potential through individualized support and collaboration with teaching staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one academic support to students with additional learning needs
- Deliver small group interventions to enhance learning outcomes
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support the inclusion of SFL learners
- Monitor and track student progress using a range of assessment strategies
- Adapt teaching methods and use technology to meet individual learning needs
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans in partnership with students and staff
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions
- Participate in professional development and staff meetings to enhance teaching practices
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with GTCS registration or eligibility
- Proven experience working with students with additional learning needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Commitment to inclusive education and student-centered learning
Preferred
- Experience in designing and delivering small group interventions
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and learning support software
- Experience in a school setting with a diverse student population
- Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes through targeted support
