The Opportunity:

As the Director of Human Resources, you will lead and shape the HR function, ensuring it aligns with the school’s strategic goals and values. This is a pivotal role that supports the school’s mission through effective people management, policy development, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the school’s Human Resources strategy in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Oversee the management of HR policies, procedures, and compliance with employment legislation.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers in developing their people management skills.
  • Manage disciplinary and grievance processes, ensuring fair and effective resolution.
  • Deliver training and development programs that support staff growth and retention.
  • Ensure the HR team maintains accurate personnel records and manages onboarding and probation processes.
  • Lead the recruitment and resourcing strategy, ensuring compliance with Safer Recruitment standards.
  • Support the payroll and remuneration processes for both teaching and operational staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Significant experience in Human Resources management, including policy development and implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High level of literacy and numeracy.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior HR role within a multi-faceted organization.
  • Familiarity with HR management information systems.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent, with CIPD membership.
  • Experience in the education sector.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Awareness of safeguarding and safer recruitment practices.
