The Opportunity:
As the Director of Human Resources, you will lead and shape the HR function, ensuring it aligns with the school’s strategic goals and values. This is a pivotal role that supports the school’s mission through effective people management, policy development, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the school’s Human Resources strategy in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Oversee the management of HR policies, procedures, and compliance with employment legislation.
- Provide guidance and support to managers in developing their people management skills.
- Manage disciplinary and grievance processes, ensuring fair and effective resolution.
- Deliver training and development programs that support staff growth and retention.
- Ensure the HR team maintains accurate personnel records and manages onboarding and probation processes.
- Lead the recruitment and resourcing strategy, ensuring compliance with Safer Recruitment standards.
- Support the payroll and remuneration processes for both teaching and operational staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Significant experience in Human Resources management, including policy development and implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High level of literacy and numeracy.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior HR role within a multi-faceted organization.
- Familiarity with HR management information systems.
- Degree-level education or equivalent, with CIPD membership.
- Experience in the education sector.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Awareness of safeguarding and safer recruitment practices.
