The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join a well-established department. This role offers the chance to contribute to a rich and varied curriculum, support student achievement, and make a real impact on young people’s learning and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that inspire a love of reading and writing.
  • Plan and implement a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Support students in developing their literacy skills across all subjects.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing targeted feedback and intervention where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental strategies.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that reflects the values of the institution.
  • Engage in professional development and continuous improvement of teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Experience of teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take on leadership responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching GCSE English Literature or Language.
  • Experience of working with Early Career Teachers.
  • Familiarity with the TrustEd Schools Partnership and its values.
  • Experience of developing and delivering enrichment activities in English.
