The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Music to join our Pre Prep and Prep School. This role offers the opportunity to inspire young students aged 4 to 11, leading vocal and instrumental ensembles and contributing to a rich musical environment both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons to students aged 4 to 11 with a range of abilities.
  • Lead and support vocal and instrumental ensembles, including assemblies and classroom accompaniment.
  • Collaborate with Senior School colleagues and visiting music teachers to ensure a seamless musical journey for students.
  • Organise and contribute to music-related clubs, rehearsals, performances, and concerts.
  • Promote a curriculum that balances academic challenge with the joy of musical creativity.
  • Support the development of students’ musical talents and confidence.
  • Commit to continuous professional development and extracurricular involvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong piano skills and the ability to provide classroom accompaniment.
  • Experience teaching music to young children aged 4 to 11.
  • Commitment to extracurricular involvement and music activities.
  • Ability to work as part of a dedicated team of music professionals.
  • Passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of music.

Preferred

  • Experience with leading ensembles or performing groups.
  • Background in teaching vocal or instrumental music.
  • Experience with curriculum development in music education.
  • Familiarity with child-led learning approaches.
