Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate learning and support students with physical and neurological impairments to achieve their individual goals.
  • Work closely with parents and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to education and care.
  • Implement and develop innovative teaching strategies and curriculum approaches tailored to individual needs.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of a highly individualized curriculum based on engagement models and assessment frameworks.
  • Support the development of challenging and exciting learning experiences that promote student engagement and progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the school.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being and development of all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special education, preferably with a focus on SEN, autism, or sensory needs.
  • Proven ability to work with children with complex needs and physical or neurological impairments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in training programs such as SCERTS, ELKLAN, and behaviour management.
  • Ability to manage and support students with a wide range of attainment levels and individual needs.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering individualized learning plans and assessments.
  • Background in mainstream or special education with a passion for teaching and learning.
  • Experience in implementing curriculum innovations and supporting student engagement.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills with a commitment to contributing positively to school development and improvement.
