The Opportunity:

As a Bank Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with autism and complex needs. You will work closely with teachers and students to help them develop academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students individually and in groups with literacy, numeracy, communication, and social skills
  • Assist teachers with planning and delivering lessons and activities
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies to maintain a calm and structured classroom environment
  • Prepare and organise resources for lessons, trips, and school activities
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour
  • Supervise students during breaks and lunchtimes
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure the needs of all students are met
  • Provide one-to-one support where required

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in educational, childcare, or SEN settings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour
  • A team player with a collaborative mindset and willingness to learn

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with autism
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices
  • Experience in delivering support for students with complex needs
