The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with autism and complex needs in a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in a structured and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities under the guidance of teachers.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with individualised learning needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to support student development.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times.
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere within the classroom.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/Level 4/5).
  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with autism or complex needs.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or care setting.
  • Knowledge of autism-specific teaching strategies.
  • Experience with behaviour management techniques.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience with residential or specialist education settings.
