The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with autism and complex needs in a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in a structured and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities under the guidance of teachers.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with individualised learning needs.
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to support student development.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere within the classroom.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/Level 4/5).
- Experience working with young people, particularly those with autism or complex needs.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or care setting.
- Knowledge of autism-specific teaching strategies.
- Experience with behaviour management techniques.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience with residential or specialist education settings.
